Jazz Vespers-Celebrating the Centennial Birthday of Mary Lou Williams

For the past year concerts, workshops, lectures, and worship services all over the world have celebrated the music and spirit of the great pianist, composer and educator Mary Lou Williams, May 8,1910-May 28,1981. This Jazz Vespers focuses on her sacred music culminated from various performances and recordings: Mary Lou's Mass, Music for Peace, and the Pittsburgh Mass, and will include readings by Rev Cari Keith and Amelia Lufrano Kelly, that reflect her work and deep spirituality. Light refreshments will be served after the service.
Allwood Community Church is very easy to get to-right off of Rt 3 and the Garden State Parkway.
