XM Satellite Radio Salutes Jazz Appreciation Month

April is Jazz Appreciation Month. From the classic jazz and bebop on Real Jazz and the cool, contemporary jazz and hip vocals on Watercolors to jazz fusion, modern, acoustic, acid and techno jazz sounds of Beyond Jazz, plus the Great American Songbook on High Standards and a home for the blues at Bluesville, celebrate all the moods of jazz on XM this month.

Sunday April 1: Real Jazz - 70 Birthday Celebration with Duke Jordan 8AM - 8PM ET Duke Jordan was born in New York City in 1922 and is best known for being pianist with Charlie Parker's classic 1947 quintet. Real Jazz celebrates Duke Jordan's' birthday with music written or performed by Duke every other hour (except 11am - 2pm)

Turrentine, affectionately called Mr. T by his legion of fans is regarded as one of the finest tenor saxophonist in any style in modern times.
