Connie Crothers be presenting an eight-week course at Swing University at Jazz at Lincoln Center, beginning on Tuesday, September 21, 6:30-8:30, and continuing every Tuesday evening through November 9. Each class will feature one musician: 9/21, Billie Holiday; 9/28, Lester Young; 10/5, Roy Eldridge; 10/12, Charlie Christian; 10/19, Charlie Parker; 10/26, Bud Powell; 11/2, Fats Navarro; 11/9, Lennie Tristano, It's $30 per class, $200 for all 8 classes.

Next Wednesday evening, from 6:00-9:00, Connie will be hosting the musician's show on WKCR-FM (89.9 or streaming over the internet, playing the music of Lennie Tristano and Max Roach.

PS: The Lester-Young, Charlie Parker birthday broadcasts will be on WKCR this weekend: August 27 will be Lester Young's birthday broadcast; August 28 will feature all the recordings which have both Lester Young and Charlie Parker; August 29 will be Charlie Parker's birthday broadcast--three full days, around the clock, of this amazing music.
