NCC JAZZ FACULTY SERIES CONTINUES WITH VOCALIST JANICE BORLA
North Central College will present the second in its Jazz Faculty Concert Series on Wednesday, November 10, with a performance by vocalist Janice Borla. Joining her will be guitarist John McLean, pianist Frank Caruso, bassist Eric Hochberg and drummer Jack Mouse. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave, Naperville.
Borla, a Naperville resident since 1986, has been described as "a one-woman jazz tornado" (Jazz Times) and "a stunning singer with a lustrous voice and the technique, imagination and daring of the best improvising instrumentalists" (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). Her current CD release From Every Angle was named one the "Best CDs of the Year" by DownBeat Magazine.
She is founder of the Janice Borla Vocal Jazz Camp and "Hot Jazz - 6 Cool Nites" concert series, an annual event at North Central College now in its 23nd season.
