The Music of Sarah Vaughan / Jazz at Lincoln Center / January 21 and 22
Fri-Sat, Jan 21-22, 7:30pm & 9:30pm
The Allen Room
There was no one else like her in all of music: Sarah Vaughan had more sheer chops than any six opera singers put together, not to mention more energy, humor, and sheer imagination than anyone else in jazz. Aided by two outstanding contemporary vocalists, Mary Stallings and Jane Monheit, music director and pianist Eric Reed will make it clear why the immortal Sarah was properly described as both "Sassy" and "The Divine One."
