Saalik Ziyad plays at Chicago's Jazz Showcase for the first time

Okay maybe you haven't heard or not, but this band is something else. After having their premiers in Poland last year and the Chicago Jazz Festival this year, they are ready to perform at the world famous Jazz Showcase here in Chicago, Illinois. You will hear jazz standards, bebop and hardbop tunes by Joe Henderson, Charles Mingus and other contemporaries in mind with fresh original lyrics. And fresh original music by Saalik Ziyad.

Saalik Ziyad on vocals
Fred Jackson Jr. on saxophones
Shaun Johnson on trumpet and flugelhorn
Kirk Brown on piano
Martin Stonikas on bass
Dushun Mosley on drums

Sets at 8pm and 10pm
$10 general admission, $5 students
