Jazz Musician Pledges To Raise $50,000 For Cancer Research with Concert Series (Published: April 19, 2007)
UNION, N.J. - Enjoy wonderful music as well as contribute to a national cause during the "Spring Into Jazz Concert Series 2007", the first of an annual concert series dedicated to raising awareness and funding for ovarian cancer research. The concert will be held on May 3, 2007 at 7:30 PM at the Junior Woman's Club of Maplewood located at 60 Woodland Road, Maplewood, N.J.
Spearheaded by Nealsight Records, in partnership with The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation at 14 Pennsylvania Plaza Suite 1400 New York "Spring Into Jazz Concert Series 2007" will headline Nealsight Records smooth jazz R&B recording artist LEON, whose mother recently passed away from ovarian Cancer. Also, during the months of April, May, and June all the proceeds from CD sales will go toward cancer research. Leon is asking that all retail outlets and online outlines give one dollar of their profit from sale during this time as well. Leon will be performing songs from his highly acclaimed CD "My Soul Speaks" with a special performance of selections from his new soon to be released CD "All For Love."
Also performing will be jazz fusion group Carma, jazz vocalist Isiss, two of Nealsight Records latest artist performing selection from their upcoming releases and poet Trishann, with special guest saxophonist Benny Baskdale, Jr. "We are pleased with the caliber of performers participating in this endeavor and the public will definitely be in for a big musical treat," said Leon.
