The Bad Plus Live Stream on Sunday 12/12
(Published: December 09, 2010)

Telluride Jazz Celebration is inviting the world to watch and listen when the highly acclaimed trio, The Bad Plus plays two special shows at DazzleJazz in Denver on Sunday December 12. The two shows, taking place at 6 and 8pm, will be streamed live over Telluride Jazz' internet site at telluridejazz.org.

For the past ten years The Bad Plus - Reid Anderson, Ethan Iverson and David King - have broken down the walls of jazz convention and created an uncompromising body of work. Few jazz groups in recent memory have amassed such acclaim, and few have inspired such controversy while audaciously bucking musical trends. While the bulk of their output has been original music, they have famously deconstructed covers in the pop, rock, electronic and classical idioms.

The live streaming event is part of Telluride Jazz Celebration's TJC On Tour which brings the spirit and excitement of the annual festival to regional locations such as Denver, Salt Lake, Phoenix and Albuquerque while live broadcasting amazing jazz performances to the world via the internet.

In conjunction with the live performances of The Bad Plus, The Jazz Street Team will be creating a scene in Larimer Square on Sunday between 11am and 2pm. "There will be rickshaws, jazz ensembles, giveaways and an overall element of fun. We hope to create lots of awareness about the two shows at Dazzle and also about Telluride Jazz" said Dennis Lankes of Live Sauce Media. A call to the Telluride Jazz Offices confirmed that there will be great giveaways including posters and t-shirts.

In addition to the giveaways in Larimer Square, a lucky member of the audience at DazzleJazz will win a pair of 3-day passes to the 35th annual Telluride Jazz Celebration to be held August 5-7, 2011 where Grammy Award Winner Paquito D'Rivera will be the Guest of Honor. "The Bad Plus and a 1 in 100 chance winning free passes to Telluride's most intimate festival. What a night!" said Todd Altschuler of Telluride Jazz.

Since 1977, the Telluride Jazz Celebration has consistently earned national and international attention for featuring the best in classic/mainstream, blues and international jazz. It spotlights some of the finest internationally accomplished artists, along with exciting new talent, in a remarkable setting that brings jazz lovers to Telluride from all over the world.
