The Brazilian singer Luciana Souza is one of jazz's leading interpreters and has bossa nova in her blood. She makes her 92Y debut leading a powerhouse trio of guitarist Romero Lubambo and percussionist Cyro Baptista.
Souza's sound has been described as "Astrud Gilberto channeling Nina Simone" (San Francisco Chronicle) and her latest album, Tide, is her fourth to be nominated for a Grammy Award. She previously took home an award for her featured work on Herbie Hancock's Album of the Year winner, River: The Joni Letters, produced by her husband, Larry Klein.
