Got Piano Lessons? More and More Get their Instruction Online
(Published: April 11, 2011)

Used to be if you wanted to take piano lessons you'd turn to your local Yellow Pages. Not anymore. Thanks to the Internet, anyone anywhere in the world can now log on and get instruction from some of the top teachers in the world.

"The Internet is a great equalizer" says online teacher Edward Weiss.

Weiss owns and operates a website that teaches beginning adults how to play piano in the New Age style.

Online for over 10 years, his site is constantly growing. In fact, the course Weiss teaches now has over 1000 students.

When asked why he thinks more and more people are turning to the world wide web for instruction, Weiss has this to say:

"It's really about convenience first and price second. What could be better than taking lessons from your own home? Not only that, but taking lessons online is almost always cheaper than taking them in person."

With so many now bringing their expertise online, the problem students now face is not if they can take piano lessons online, but what kind. Everything from classical, jazz, to new age is available and most of these have video.

There's even a site that teaches Gospel. Weiss, who teaches piano in the New Age style offers his course for $19 a month. Students are given immediate access to over 100 piano lessons and also get a free workbook.

When asked about the future of teaching piano online, Weiss says...

"I think it's only going to get bigger and bigger. More and more people are turning towards the Internet as they discover there's a lot more online than what they may have thought."

Weiss is currently offering a free piano lesson ‘Summer Morning' and a free book ‘Free to be Creative at the Piano' at his website http://www.quiescencemusic.com
