Spring Swing Soiree in Saratoga
A swing dance/jazz music event will occur on Saturday, May 21st, from
7:30-11:30pm, at the The Saratoga Music Hall. At 8pm
the stage will feature the band, NitroJive. The event will feature swing music and
1940s fancy dress is encouraged, but not required. The Soiree is
coordinated and sponsored by the Saratoga SAVOY and is
part of the successful Diamond Dance series which boasts the most
attended monthly big band/swing dance in the Northeast.
"Our dance series is a spectacular multi-generational event. We are very proud
to be part of the most successful music series to occur in the Saratoga Music
Hall since it was reconstructed for musical events in 1937.To celebrate, we though about reviving the jazz
the Hall's earlier years," says event coordinator, Dave Wolf. "The band (NitroJive)
is known for its energy and ability to make you feel as if transported to a Swing club
of the 1940s and early 50s." Wolf also noted that there will be a special dance performance
by the Spa City Swingers.
The dance is one of the Dance Flurry Affiliate series called the
Diamond Dance sponsored by the Saratoga SAVOY and Ben and
Jerry's. The event regularly offers seating, tables, food, beverages,
ice cream by Ben and Jerry's, breaks with music by DJ SAVOY, a visual art show,
a dance lesson and many other events. The Diamond Dance is
known for its unique energy that attracts attendees of all ages
as well as some of the best dancers in the northeast. The
event opens its doors at 7:30 with a dance lesson and
Nitrojive will take the stage at 8pm.
