Playboy Jazz Festival 'Concerts On The Green' at Warner Center (Published: June 01, 2011)
Let the good times roll... head on over to the Lou Bredlow Pavilion for 'Playboy Jazz at Warner Park' a free concert offering a diverse mix of jazz and entertainment on Sunday, June 5th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The free event, held in conjunction with the upcoming Playboy Jazz Festival, Saturday and Sunday, June 11th and 12th, at the Hollywood Bowl, is also part of the Valley Cultural Center's "Concerts on the Green" series.
The talent lineup includes: 1+One featuring four-time Grammy nominee Patrice Rushen and world class drummer Ndugu Chancler with special guest, guitarist Doc Powell; Latin Salsa 'party band' Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad; and the irresistible sextet, the Nikhil Korula Band . The Calabasas High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Joshua Barroll, will open the show.
In addition to entertainment, twenty local eateries will provide a diverse array of food and beverages for sale. A Children's Play Zone will feature inflatable bouncers, clowns, face painting and balloon artists.
Patrons may bring blankets, beach/lawn chairs, picnic baskets and coolers. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Parking is available in the parking structures on Califa Street or in parking structures east of Owensmouth Avenue between Califa Street and Oxnard Street for $10.
