AS INDEPENDENCE DAY APPROACHES, RS BERKELEY IS SET TO INTRODUCE THE NEW AMERICAN MADE FREEDOM ADJUSTABLE CLARINET BARREL
(Published: June 30, 2011)

While the fourth of July is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues and private events celebrating the history and traditions of the United States, clarinetists and doublers will have another reason to celebrate, with the launch of the Freedom Adjustable Clarinet Barrel from RS Berkeley.

Manufactured in the heart of the United States, the Freedom Adjustable Clarinet Barrel is ideal for both large and medium bore Bb clarinets. Made from anodized aluminum alloy, the Freedom Barrel adjusts from roughly 60mm to 70mm. The mechanics of the Freedom Barrel allows the mouthpiece to remain stationary during adjustment, giving each player the Freedom to tune in any situation.According to RS Berkeley Director of Engineering and Product Development, Willie Lacalle, "The simple and sturdy design of the Freedom Barrel allows a clarinetist to gently turn the middle (knurled) of the barrel in any direction to achieve perfect tuning."

"In celebration of the Freedom Barrel being manufactured in the United States, we chose to launch the product on Independence Day, paying tribute to American ingenuity and the millions of Americans who role up their sleeves each day to protect our freedom," stated company President, Les Silver.

Since 2002, RS Berkeley has offered the most complete and innovative selection of brass, woodwind and string instruments. Generations of musicians trust RS Berkeley to provide instruments that maximize their playing ability and improve the clarity, intonation and sound of their instruments, while protecting their investment with the finest materials at affordable prices. Additional information about RS Berkeley instruments and accessories can be found by visiting www.rsberkeley.com.
