Latest Issue of Scooby-Sax Newsletter Published
(Published: July 30, 2011)

The July, 2011 issue of the Scooby-Sax Newsletter has been published. This issue of this educational resource focuses on the analysis of transcribed solos by Al Cohn, Hank Mobley, Zoot Sims, and John Coltrane on the tune, "Tenor Conclave." The analysis of these four solos on "I Got Rhythm" chord changes focuses on such techniques as chromatic approaches, guide tone lines, sequences, digital patterns, and chord substitutions. Suggestions are included to help players incorporate these ideas into their practice routines.
