KEYBOARDIST AND RECORDING ARTIST LAO TIZER HEADLINES 25TH
ANNIVERSARY ‘GRAPEFEST' WITH HIS POPULAR WORLD JAZZ FUSION BAND TIZER SEPTEMBER 16TH AND 17TH IN GRAPEVINE, TEXAS

Noted keyboardist, recording artist and composer Lao Tizer will headline the 25th anniversary ‘Grapefest', (the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation) with his fiery band TIZER, Friday and Saturday, September 16th and 17th, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The group will perform on the Gazebo Stage on Friday night, and on the Champagne Terrace Stage on Saturday night, closing the show and capping off each day's festivities of extraordinary wine and culinary experiences and live entertainment.
Lao Tizer captivates audiences of all ages and musical tastes with his eclectic blend of jam- based world music, jazz and contemporary fusion. Proclaimed "an independent artist with all the right moves" and "a torchbearer for the new generation of contemporary jazz," he has played with such stellar artists as Wayne Shorter, George Benson, Boney James, Isaac Hayes, The Commodores, Robin Thicke and many more in concerts all over the world. His popular singles, "Her Poetry" and "Uptown" landed on Billboard's contemporary jazz chart and his recordings have sold over 90,000 copies. The group was also a 2011 Oasis Jazz Awards nominee for "Jazz Group of the Year."
Lao's continuing growth as a composer is expressed in the deep musical prism of his evolving artistry. Whether he is performing solo, in concert with his unique band TIZER, (featuring the all-star lineup of guitarist Jeff Kollman, saxophonist/percussionist/vocalist Steve Nieves, bass guitarist Rufus Philpot and drummer Raul Pineda) with his trio, or as a member of Chieli Minucci's acclaimed Special EFX, Lao's compelling performances always move the audience.
In addition to touring across the United States with TIZER, Lao is performing on an all-star concert tour with Chieli Minucci and violin virtuoso Karen Briggs this summer. After the group finishes touring, TIZER will be heading into the studio to record their next CD sometime in September. Their most recent project, TIZER Live, was released in 2010. For tickets, more information regarding tour dates and TIZER's upcoming appearance at ‘Grapefest' please visit www.laotizer.com or www.GrapevineTexasUSA.com....
