Thirteen Berklee Alumni Nominated for Latin Grammy Awards
(Published: October 03, 2011)

Thirteen Berklee alumni working in one of the most vital segments of the music industry have been nominated for Latin Grammy Awards. The majority of nominees are Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) alumni, 10 in all, some of whom are competing against each other in the Record and Album of the Year categories. Others appear in the Best Engineered Album and Producer of the Year categories. Three MP&E alumni nominees are multi Latin Grammy Award winners: Benny Faccone with seven, Gustavo Borner with six, and five-time winner Gustavo Celis. Aureo Baqueiro, with two previous awards, is up for Producer of the Year for his work on recordings by six different artists.

Alumni nominated in performance categories were Al Di Meola, Bobby Sanabria, and Alexander Acha, who won the Best New Artist Latin Grammy in 2009.
