Two New Members Selected for Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation's Jazz Touring Network Program
(Published: January 25, 2012)

Baltimore, MD - January 25, 2012 - Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation has announced support for two new members of the Jazz Touring Network - Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC and Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA will join the 23 current members during the 2012 program cycle.

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation's Jazz Touring Network is a presenter-based membership program designed to expand the presentation of jazz throughout the mid-Atlantic region by providing opportunities for professional development and peer mentoring, and facilitating touring through collective action and performance fee subsidies. New members are selected on an annual basis through an open, competitive selection process. The focus is on performing arts presenters from within the mid-Atlantic region that have had little-to-no experience presenting jazz, and who also work with communities underserved by the arts. Presenting organizations selected for membership are eligible for reimbursement of travel expenses relating to attendance at the annual network meeting and fee-support for engagements that are part of network-developed block-booked tours. Once selected, membership in the program is ongoing contingent upon meeting annual participation requirements.
