Open Music Circle

Come and join us at the Open Music Circle on July 22nd!

The Open Music Circle will meet again on Sunday, July 22, 2007, from 8 PM (sharp) to 10 PM, at our home, the New York Insight Meditation Center, 28 West 27th Street, 10th fl. (please push buzzer 27 even if the building door is open).

All acoustic musicians, vocalists and dancers are welcome. If you have not visited with us yet, here's your chance.

The Open Music Circle meets regularly on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. There is no musical or other agenda and no director. Each Circle is an exploration, an adventure. We start in silence, someone begins, then we listen to each other and play, vocalize or move accordingly, and finally we end with silence. Musicians respond to dancers and dancers to musicians. Now and then we might try exercises to improve our skills.

Some have found the Circle experience to be like a spiritual practice, others have discovered useful things about themselves or their playing, singing, or dancing. Usually we have fun, and occasionally something miraculous happens.

A $10 contribution is requested at the end of the evening to help pay for the use of the space. Please let us know by reply email before Friday, July 20, if you intend to attend.
