Amy Cervini - whom The New York Times describes as "a thoughtful and broad-minded jazz singer" for her free-spirited, genre-blind approach - recently celebrated her new recording Digging Me, Digging You: A Tribute to Blossom Dearie, with two sold-out nights at The 55 Bar in NYC, a sold-out coast-to-coast Canadian tour. The artist is currently in the middle of a several-month long residency at The 55 Bar.

Cervini is excited to announce her debut performance at Joe's Pub on June 17 at 7:00 PM! For this one-night-only performance Cervini has assembled a very special ensemble featuring the wonderful talents of Anat Cohen, Matt Wilson, Nadje Noordhuis, Jeremy Udden, Josh Sinton, Jesse Lewis, Jennifer Wharton, Carmen Staaf, Matt Aronoff and James Shipp. Cervini will be performing music from her critically acclaimed recording on Anzic Records, Digging Me, Digging You: A Tribute to Blossom Dearie.

Cervini's Homage to Hip Jazz Pixie Blossom Dearie,
Digging Me, Digging You Receiving Unanimous Critical Acclaim:

"Cervini works magic with every track. . . . (she) stands out from the pack in her generation." - AllMusic

"She avoids the pit- falls of many tribute recordings by interpreting the songs in ways that suit her own characteris- tics. Those strengths include crystal-clear dic- tion and an unaffected, direct style that draws the listener into these quirky songs. Another obvious strength is a supporting cast that includes players as talented as Anat and Avishai Cohen, and Matt Wilson." - DownBeat Magazine (April 2012)

"And above all it is Cervini's talent and personality, which sparks this delightful and entertaining offering. Just like Blossom Dearie, Amy Cervini is a very special singer . . ."
- The New York City Jazz Record

"Cervini's subtle navigation, fine enunciation and wise choice of material, combined with Oded Lev-Ari's elegant arrangements, make this CD a gem"
- Downbeat Magazine, Editor's Pick

"...she delivers each with deft authority, easily capturing the effortless swing of Dearie's delivery while making ample use of her own richly coloured tone. Definitely a disc to dig."
- The Globe and Mail

"A vibrant sense of rhythm and step to go with the quick-fire funniness. The lyrics, comprised of shrewd turns of phrase and beautifully cadenced channels, pop and sizzle under Cervini's understanding. She is an articulate, smooth vocalist . . . a very, very fun recording indeed." - Blinded By Sound

"Excellent jazz vocal album by the talented singer backed by a ridiculously impressive cast..." - eMusic

"Digging Me, Digging You is a brilliant work of vocal beauty and composition choices."
- JazzWrap

"Amy Cervini has distilled the strengths and siphoned off the weaknesses of the Dearie method in her marvelous tribute." - eMusic (Britt Robson)

"From beginning to end, "Digging Me, Digging You" will make you smile - if this recording does not brighten your day, seek outside help." - Step Tempest

"Cervini has everything to become a major voice in modern jazz." - Jazz, Blues & Co.

"...a joyful effervescence that's emotionally honest and affirming..." - ICON

"Cervini is a talent deserving attention, making some very strong choices with Digging You Digging Me ." - All About Jazz

"good song choices and good singing." - Winnipeg Free Press

"clear diction and secure intonation, embedded in elaborate arrangements" - Der Sontag

"Cervini digs Blossom Dearie, has the voice and attitude to pull off a tribute album and does so in fine fashion." - MidWest Record

"Amy Cervini is a sublime conqueror of The Great American Songbook..." - Gaffa.dk
