LOVE ASSASSIN TO PERFORM AT THE LEGENDARY APOLLO THEATER
(Published: June 11, 2012)

New York, NY June 11, 2012-Love Assassin will be performing live in support of their soon to be released self-titled CD, Love Assassin, as contestants at the renowned Apollo Theater's Amateur Night in NYC on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. These compelling indie/melodic rockers are truly a breath of fresh air. Love Assassin is a tight and polished unit, yet still retains a high energy and raucous rockin' attitude and presentation, which is all abundantly demonstrated on their self-titled full-length debut CD release Love Assassin, to be released in the spring of 2012.

". . . [Love Assassin] captures some of the same youthful bohemian bluster Springsteen and Southside Johnny once did."-John Fortunato, The Aquarian

With their energetic live performances, magnetic stage presence, and superior musicianship, Love Assassin has spent the past year building a strong following in northern New Jersey and beyond. This is a group of like-minded musicians that have integrated varied musical influences into a seamless dynamic whole. Originally formed by evocative lead singer/guitarist Dan Avery and imaginative lead guitarist/singer Eric Menist as an acoustic guitar duo, like many self-taught rockers Love Assassin got its start playing covers in bars, in this case throughout the New Jersey/New York club scene. Expanding to a full band in 2010, they augmented their lineup to include the driving drums of Will Frazier and Dan Patrick Leal on rock solid bass, and eventually the formidable talents of Pat McQuillan on piano and guitar to achieve the dynamic sound of the band's current incarnation. With the personnel line-up complete the band decided to focus their energy on writing original music. Following an extended time of writing, recording and performing live they've developed what is now the engaging and unique Love Assassin sound.

"Their fast growing popularity is easy to understand . . ."-Michael Heslep, CNN iReport

The soon to be released Love Assassin is a joyous musical celebration and at the same time an exciting preview of what this group is capable of live. Putting on this CD at a party is a sure bet, but seeing this band live really brings the party directly home to you.
