Ezra Weiss - Get Happy Is Now Out!
(Published: August 25, 2007)

Hello friends and music lovers,
My new CD, Get Happy, is now available. This is my album about the search for happiness. The music is very personal to me. It features originals compositions and rearranged standards. I've spent the last year and a half making this album, and I'm very proud of it. The album is beautifully recorded by Anthony Ruotolo at Avatar Studios, and features AMAZING musicians:

Kevin Louis, trumpet
Antonio Hart, alto saxophone
Kelly Roberge, tenor saxophone
Andy Hunter, trombone
Andrae Murchison, trombone
Heidi Krenn, voice,
Samantha Grabler, voice
Elif Caglar, voice
Corcoran Holt, bass
Jason Brown, drums
Billy Hart, drums

And we've already gotten a great review:

"I hear a lot of solid, positive influences from the sundry performers that make up Ezra Weiss's new CD effort, i.e. Betty Carter, Bill Evans, et al. And, this certainly doesn't lessen the overall final product,as this project is an amalgam of consummate talent that anyone can be proud of. Weiss has created a disc containg great rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic power..........Balanced with extreme sensitivity, feeling, & interpretation. This is up there with any of the finer jazz groups that one could consider a role model & inspiration to musicians anywhere/everywhere.

Weiss, plus group exhibit a great sense of what they do, showing us a certain total knolwedge & possibilities of what they are asked to do musically......This, with rhythmic, melodic & harmonic grace."
