Marlow Rosado y La Riqueña to open La Historia de la Salsa at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach, Friday Sept 21 at 8 pm
(Published: September 15, 2012)

As West Palm Beach gets ready to host some of Salsa's most legendary artists, over 2,000 fans anxiously anticipate the approaching date to experience "La Historia De La Salsa", (The History Of Salsa); a compilation of some of the most influential names in the Salsa industry including, Andy Montanez and Ismael Miranda. The line-up encompasses the evolution of Puerto Rican Salsa.

To represent the sound of today, the night will open with GRAMMY-NOMINATED, Marlow Rosado, and his orchestra "La Riqueña" featuring Tito Puente Jr, who appear courtesy of KCC Productions.

With over twenty years' experience in the music industry, pianist-composer-producer Marlow Rosado has developed a powerful portfolio working with many of the top artists in the Latin recording world. Singing with world-renowned producer Desmond Child has led him to work with major artists such as Alejandra Guzman and Ricky Martin (on Más). With eleven Grammy nominations to his credit, Rosado's influence in the Tropical genre can be felt on records ranging from Elvis Crespo to Gran Combo.

His 2009 debut album, Salsalsa, featuring Andy Montañez, lived at the #1 spot on Puerto Rico's hottest Salsa station, Zeta 93, for over eight weeks. His second and latest CD, Retro, (2012) takes some of the strongest songs from the 1970's, maintaining the essentials of the originals, but metamorphosing them in Marlow's 21st-century conception until they become entirely his own. The album features guest appearances by Tito Puente, Jr., Ismael Miranda, Bobby Cruz, Papo Lucca, Kevin Ceballo, Marlon Fernandez, Luigi Texidor, Quique Dominich, Salvador Cuevas, and Tony Vega. It has received rave reviews and has made the Top Ten list nationally in its category.

Following the opening set the show will feature an All-Star cast including "El Nino De Trastalleres", Andy Montañez; "El Nino Bonito De La Fania", Ismael Miranda; The legendary Paquito Guzman; and musical director Mario Ortiz & His All Star Band.

Tickets start at $33.25. The Kravis Center is located at 701 Okeechobee Boulevard, West Palm Beach. For tickets and information call 561-832-7469 or 800-572-8471 or visit kravis.org.
