Pianist MICHAEL WOLFF made his recording debut with Cal Tjader in 1972 and went on to play with Airto and Flora Purim, Cannonball Adderly, Sonny Rollins, The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Nancy Wilson, Tony Williams and Christian McBride, etc. The former musical director of The Arsenio Hall Show, he's performed with and conducted over 25 symphony orchestras worldwide.
Drummer MIKE CLARK is best known as a major innovator through his incisive playing on Herbie Hancock's Thrust album, among others, which garnered him an international cult following. He has performed and recorded with jazz legends such as Chet Baker, Christian McBride, Vince Guaraldi, Tony Bennett, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, Woody Shaw, Donald Harrison, Randy Brecker Wallace Roney, etc. As bandleaders, their own releases have met with critical and popular acclaim.
Their groundbreaking WOLFF AND CLARK EXPEDITION defies set boundaries of genre, with a unique deconstructive take on classic jazz, popular standards, and original compositions that electrifies audiences and both swings and grooves. For this inaugural Iridium gig that celebrates their upcoming new release The Wolff and Clark Expedition, they bring in a truly VIP roster of supporting players with the likes of heavyweights Steve Wilson on alto, Tom Harrell on trumpet, Alex Foster on tenor and alto, and James Genus on bass.
