Steve Coleman and the Aulos Trio, Oct 7, at 9 p.m. at the Brecht Forum, NYC
(Published: September 20, 2007)

Composer-saxophonist Steve Coleman and the Aulos Trio will perform on Sunday, October 7, at 9:00 p.m. at the Brecht Forum, 451 West Street (between Bank and Bethune) in New York City. Admission is free. Arrive early, as seating is limited.

Coleman's musical philosophy "expresses our experiences through music that uses improvisation and structure as two of its main ingredients" and primarily draws on music from Africa and creative music of the African diaspora. This performance features Aulos, an exciting horn trio comprising Coleman on sax, Jonathan Finlayson on trumpet, and Tim Albright on trombone, who deliver Coleman's own brand of "Spontaneous Composition."
