Following her sojourn to Istanbul, Turkey to perform and participate in the International Jazz Day Celebration along with Herbie Hancock, Eddie Palmieri, Esperanza Spalding, and many other celebrated artists, the JJA declared reed virtuoso Anat Cohen "Clarinetist of the Year" for the seventh year in a row, and "Multi-Reeds Player of the Year" for the second consecutive year, and in a major feature in the May 5 Sunday Arts & Leisure Section, The New York Times called her, an "ambassador for the clarinet". On May 18th, Anat Cohen will be performing at The Blue Note - Milano, which will be Webcast globally for FREE on ShowGo.TV; click here to view - http://www.youtube.com/wa....

On June 26 Ms. Cohen will be appearing in NYC as part of Madison Pk. Music. And this July, Cohen will be appearing at The North Sea Jazz Festival where she will be awarded the prestigious Paul Acket Award.

Anat Cohen has topped critics and readers polls in DownBeat Magazine several years running. Her latest album, Claroscuro, is in CMJ's top-50 Jazz albums of 2012, and JazzTimes Magazine's top-40 albums of 2012, plus it reached the best-selling charts on iTunes and Amazon, and peaked at #15 on the Billboard Jazz Chart. Cohen was recently featured on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross - click here to listen, and in 2012 she graced the covers of both JazzTimes Magazine and DownBeat Magazine, was featured in The Wall Street Journal, and was covered extensively in publications around the world.

Cohen recently played a sold-out show at Carnegie Hall, with the 3 Cohens, featuring brothers Avishai and Yuval, and a sold-out duet concert with pianist Fred Hersch at the Jazz Standard.

Recent Press Quotes:
"Ms. Cohen on the clarinet was a revelation. Using the clarinet's upper register, she could evoke infectious joy. In the lower register, her playing could conjure a deep, soulful melancholy. On up-tempo numbers, her improvisations weren't just bebop fast; they had a clarity and deep intelligence that is really quite rare. She made it look effortless, even as she was playing the most technically difficult of all the reed instruments... she took my breath away" - Joe Nocera, The New York Times

"The New York jazz community, long populated by players from around the world, has seen a major influx of excellent Israeli musicians in last 20 years. Among this crowd, the stand-out is doubtless Anat Cohen . . ." - Tad Hendrickson, The Wall Street Journal

"This is the kind of music - warm, human, diverse and irresistible - that will not only bring the clarinet back into favor, but jazz itself" - Paul de Barros, The Seattle Times

"The lyric beauty of her tone, the easy fluidity of her technique and the extroverted manner of her delivery make this music accessible to all." - Howard Reich, The Chicago Tribune

"Along with her soulful mix of fire and finesse, Anat Cohen, the brilliant, Israeli-born clarinetist/saxophonist, is a jazz existentialist who plays completely in the moment with moving poetic expression, urgent directness, clarity and concision."
- Owen McNally, The Hartford Courant
