SubCulture Hosts Laila Biali for July Residency
(Published: July 08, 2013)

To help SubCulture kick off their summer season, they have invited JUNO-nominated jazz pianist, Laila Biali, back for a July residency. Every Monday in July, Laila will perform with three additional musicians from the NYC jazz community.

Laila, a fierce talent herself, will play original songs alongside tunes from her REQUESTOMATIC initiative, in which she asks fans and attendees to request a song for her to arrange and play live at one of the shows.

Joining her onstage throughout her residency are some of the finest jazz musicians the city can offer, from NPR praised Theo Bleckmann and Dominick Farinacci, to Berklee College of Music alums Jordan Perlson and Donny McCaslin, and DownBeat Magazine's Critics Poll Rising Star Joel Frahm.
