This month marks the 11th year that Diane Moser's Composers Big Band has been developing and presenting new music for big band. For their 11th Anniversary performance, there will be 2 featured vocalists: Natascha Radke-Henke, singing a special big band arrangement of Quando men' vo' (La Boheme), and Lewis Robinson, singing the Jimi Hendrix tune-"Up From The Skies", with a new arrangement by Rob Middleton.
Last season featured a different resident composer each month, and also included 3 guest composers, Russ Vines, Satoko Fujii and Natsuki Tamura, as well as guest performers Marcelino Feliciano, Gradie Stone, Ilene Reid, Tina Marsh, Howard Johnson, Teresa Reynolds, and Chad Moser among others. This 2008 season will continue to feature the resident composers of the band, our past guest performers as well as some new faces, and will also include guest composers Ann Belmont in March, Frank Bennett in April, and the return of our "Peace Concert Series" in October.
