Frank D'Rone at the Green Mill Chicago (Published: February 10, 2008)
Frank D'Rone performed to a packed house Friday and Saturday night (Feb 8, 9) at the Green Mill Lounge in Chicago. He was backed by Tom Hope, Nick Schneider, Bill Harrison and Pete Castronova. The audience included many long-time fans, as well as younger jazz enthusiasts. Frank never sounded better; his phrasing was impeccable, and his guitar playing was swinging. Dick Buckley, a long-time icon in jazz radio in Chicago was in attendance and was warmly received by the audience. Hopefully, this bodes well for a timely return performance at "The Mill".
