(Published: January 15, 2014)

Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned Long Island summer arts day camp, will hold a free Open House on Sunday January 26 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Center's 200-acre woodland campus in Huntington.

There is a $100 "Early Bird" discount for enrollment through January 31 for the 2014 season, which begins June 30.

Usdan features a Jazz Department founded by Dr. Billy Taylor, and performers who have come to play on-site and often taught Master Classes include Dr. Taylor, Jimmy Heath (in photo, after a concert), Arturo O'Farrill, Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Jon Faddis and (Usdan alumna) Jane Monheit. The 2014 lineup will soon be announced.

Usdan Center, now entering its 47th season, has introduced the arts to more than 60,000 children ages 6-18, and many on scholarship. Students come from throughout New York City and the Tri-State Area, transported daily in season by air-conditioned buses.
