Harlem Jazz Brunch features Chicago Vocal Sensation
(Published: March 07, 2014)
Renaissance Jazz Brunch presents Tammy McCann Quartet
When Tammy McCann sat in with Nat Adderley Jr. earlier this year and sang “On Green Dolphin Street,” she was such a hit that we had to bring her back for her own show!
She’s been compared to grand diva Dinah Washington with vocals described as soulfully seductive and sumptuous.
Classically trained, Tammy is a superlative Chicago-based jazz vocalist who performed with Ray Charles for several years. Her powerful, sultry and mellifluous voice paints pictures and tells stories by merging jazz, gospel and classical music.
“She’s probably the best singer I’ve heard since the emergence of Dianne Reeves” – Stanley Crouch
