Tammy McCann and Laurence Hobgood Return to Roscoe's Room with Legendary Ladies of Jazz
(Published: May 16, 2014)

By the 1950s, four unique women had arisen to the top: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Dinah Washington. Their distinctive styles and mastery changed not only the direction of jazz, but the course of popular music. Hear their celebrated hit songs through the remarkable vocal styling of Tammy McCann, whom Howard Reich of the Chicago Tribune says “… possesses one of the most voluptuously beautiful voices in jazz.”

Back by popular demand! Join Tammy and Grammy winning pianist and arranger Laurence Hobgood as they reimagine hit renditions such as Dinah’s “What a Difference a Day Makes,” Sarah’s “Misty,” Ella’s “How High the Moon” and Billie Holiday’s “Don’t Explain.”

Music Sets: 7:30 pm & 9:30 pm
