New York Jazz Academy (NYJA) invites enrollment for its Summer Jazz Workshops

NEW YORK, MAY 21, 2014: Leading music school New York Jazz Academy (NYJA) will be holding world-class summer jazz workshops from July to August, 2014. It invites both aspiring and established musicians to enroll for these eight-week long workshops.
The academy has also announced workshops for the holiday week between June 30 and July 3, 2014 (Monday-Thursday).
The objective of these workshops is to help participants have an immersive jazz experience through creative learning. Students can brush up their jazz techniques through jam sessions, concerts, and after hours camps. They can have a unique creative learning experience in the best jazz environment located in the famed Upper West Side neighborhood in Manhattan, New York City.
The workshop details are below:
1. Total Workshop Duration: Eight weeks.
2. Workshop Starts: July 7, 2014 (Monday)
3. Workshop Ends: August 29, 2014 (Friday).
4. Venue: Upper West Side – Manhattan

5. Timing: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
6. Member Tuition: $726 - $876 per week. For holiday week, member pricing is $650.
7. Non-member Tuition: $908-$1,095 per week. For holiday week, member pricing is $876.
In the workshops, an integrated curriculum is followed where all the classes and lessons reinforce in the key aspects of jazz to strengthen students’ instrumental or vocal skills. Students who are in the beginning, intermediate, and advanced level classes learn through different jazz tracks for practice and improvisation.
The academy welcomes both teenagers and adults to have an insight into the versatile aspect that jazz offers. They will go through sessions on reading music notes, sectional workshops on rhythm/melody, jam sessions, and ensemble performances.
Instructors of these workshops are the finest educators and musicians of the jazz industry. Some of the featured faculties of the workshops are Adam Birnbaum (Piano), Dave Ambrosio (Bass), Tom Dempsey (Guitar), Pete Zimmer (Drum/Percussion), and many other esteemed professionals. They play a key role in making students experience and touch-base the pulses of jazz from both the earlier and modern eras.
Participants will also get opportunities to visit various historical sites, jazz clubs in New York City, and attend performances of influential jazz musicians. By enrolling for these workshops, they can accelerate their musical career as soloists or band musicians.
