Actress, Singer Cynthia Basinet Comes Out To Support The BIFF Presentation Of Blue Gold
(Published: June 10, 2014)

New York, NY: Cynthia Basinet comes out to support The Ninth Annual Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFF) presentation of "Blue Gold", a feature documentary the actress, singer appears in celebrates the cultural impact of American Blue jeans. Behind the designers and brands that cultivated an iconic Americana grit culture and the rugged work ethic of American miners. Through the artists and rock stars that created an iconic wearable art that transforms with every wear and how one unlikely garment ended up connecting us all.

Following vintage jeans hunter Eric Schrader around the world, Blue Gold searches for the reason we all wear blue mining pants of Levi Strauss. From fashion history and subculture aspiration to the lost tradition of American manufacturing, Blue Gold explores Americana in our globalized world, where cultural exchange and social responsibility demand greater transparency and inspire innovation.

Narrated by Edward Burns and with interviews, cameos, archived footage from Adriano Goldschmied, Calvin Klein, Marcus Wainwright, Paige Adams-Geller, Isaac Mizrahi, Yo-Yo Ma, Judj Collins, Marky Ramone, Iggy Pop, Brook Shields, Bruce Lee and many more.

Directed by Dutch-born filmmaker, Christian D. Bruun and Executive Producer, Mark Romeo

Cynthia latest release, “Eventually" available on iTunes and Amazon. She is best known for the sultry, jazzy version of “Santa Baby."
