(Published: August 18, 2014)

Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton, Ledisi, Joe, Chrisette Michele, DL Hughley and more have been invited for the inaugural Maxwell + The 7 Seas, May 3-10, 2015.

Phoenix, Arizona (18 August 2014): On May 3, 2015, platinum soul star Maxwell will launch the maiden voyage of his own seven-day Caribbean cruise featuring a stellar lineup of R&B and contemporary jazz artists. Maxwell + The 7 Seas will sail on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas from Port Canaveral, Florida to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and the private island Cococay for a week of live music, dancing, dining and recreation.

Maxwell assembled a lineup of R&B, neo soul, funk, contemporary jazz and reggae performers for the first-class musical vacation including Grammy winners and nominees Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton, Ledisi, Joe, Chrisette Michele, Robert Glasper, Eric Roberson, Norman Brown and Boney James to headline the marquee shared by hitmakers Brian Culbertson, Leela James, The Wailers, Marion Meadows and comedian DL Hughley.

Rounding out the performance roster are Stanley Jordan, Nick Colionne, Euge Groove, Jessy J, Warren Hill, Eric Darius, Harvey Mason and fresh faces Daley, Shy Girls, Elan Trotman, Derrick Hodge, Kenneth Whalum, Dominic Amato and Max V. With a total of eight on-board venues for live music, stages range from a five-story theater to mid-size nightclubs to an intimate piano bar.

Culinary delights will be served from a menu specially created by celebrity chef G. Garvin, who will lead a cooking demonstration. Throughout the cruise, the artists and guests will interact at a variety of events and activities enabling fans to get to know their favorite recording artists in an extraordinary setting.

"I can't wait to set sail across the ocean, beneath the surface of the soul," said Maxwell who will host several unique VIP opportunities.

Voted best cruise line eleven consecutive years in Travel Weekly's reader's choice polls, Royal Caribbean's resort-like ship provides an endless array of luxurious R&R and spa facilities; action and adventure offerings for the active; dining options to quench virtually every craving; brand name duty-free shopping; a massive casino; and nearly two-dozen bars, clubs and lounges.
