CD RELEASE CONCERT: TURNING TOWARDS THE LIGHT GO: ORGANIC GUITAR ORCHESTRA Music composed and improvisationally conducted by ADAM RUDOLPH
(Published: October 28, 2015)

Roulette presents the debut of Adam Rudolph's Go: Organic Guitar Orchestra featuring 10 of New York City's finest and most adventurous guitarists. These extraordinary musicians are composers and bandleaders in their own right; their collective experience reads like a who's who of contemporary music, with collaborators ranging from Wilco to Cassandra Wilson to Ornette Coleman.

"Turning Towards The Light" is the 10th release of Rudolph's Go: Organic Orchestra and the realization of a new kind of orchestral sound. Hailed by The New York Times as "a pioneer in world music," Rudolph grew up and began playing music of the South Side of Chicago alongside musicians Fred Anderson and Don Cherry. Fascinated by the orchestral concept of world music, Rudolph has integrated and transformed these world influences into a highly personalized language. The 10 guitarists generate a new sonic palette - a "future orchestra," if you will - that invites the listener to set aside their preconceived ideas and expectations on how an orchestra should sound.

The performance will be comprised of two sets with intermission lasting one hour and 40 minutes total.

Performers include Rez Abbasi (electric guitar and effects), Damon Banks (electric bass guitar), Marco Capelli (acoustic guitar, effects), Liberty Ellman (electric guitar and effects), David Gilmore (electric guitar and effects), Joel Harrison (electric guitar, national steel guitar and effects), Jerome Harris (electric guitar, bass guitar, lap steel guitar and effects), Brandon Ross (electric guitar and effects), Marvin Sewell (electric guitar and effects), and Kenny Wessel (electric guitar, banjo and effects).
