Christian Scott - Live At Newport CD+DVD Released
(Published: November 04, 2008)

Grammy-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott's 2-disc CD/DVD Live At Newport hit stores this week on Concord Jazz. The new live album is available to stream in its entirety at AOL Music: http://music.aol.com/songs/new_releases_full_cds

Filmed at the 2008 Newport Jazz Festival, the DVD features the performance, plus a behind-the-scenes look at his preparation for the festival. Christian assembled an all-star band for this performance, which includes Aaron Parks (piano), Joe Sanders (bass), Jamire Williams (drums), Walter Smith III (tenor saxophone) and Matthew Stevens (guitar).

Produced by Christian Scott and Chris Dunn (Senior Director of A&R, Concord Music Group), the live album not only features new material, but also gives a new take on three songs - "Litany Against Fear," "Anthem," and "Rewind That" - from Christian's first two releases.

"A stunning portrait of a young talent on the rise." - The Los Angeles Times
