Jazz Vocalist Hope Deans Infuses Soul, Heart and Music into the World of Jazz with the CD Release
(Published: January 03, 2009)

ATLANTA, GA, January 2, 2009 -- Atlanta jazz vocalist Hope Deans has released a new CD, entitled "PRESENCE," that contains works by a number of the great composers including, Burt Bacharach, David Hall, Adolphe Adam, Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane.

Hope Deans performs each song with exquisite tone and range, and an artistic feel for the lyrical message. In the well-loved song "What the World Needs Now" by Bacharach and Hall, she is accompanied by the Georgia Youth Choir.

The great saxophonist, Coleman Hawkins said, "Music should always be an adventure" and to Hope Deans she is just thankful to God for this time in her life as her journey evolves.

A native Californian, now residing in Atlanta, Ms Deans has been entertaining a steadily growing following over the past couple of years Her musical résumé includes memorable performances from aboard the Queen Mary, the Legendary Blue Guitar in Palm Springs and as a guest performer at the Mrs. California International Pageant. Her artistic vocal style has been described by her fans as "reminiscent of great artists such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James."

Aside from the popular Burt Bacharach and David Hall selection included on the CD, Presence also contains a tasteful potpourri mix for those who wish to hear a different sound of old time favorites. There is "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music which happens to be a personal favorite song of Ms Deans. A traditional Christmas song like "Christmas Time Is Here" from the all time favorite Charlie Brown character is included. Many will enjoy the way Ms Deans interprets the Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane original song, Have A Merry Little Christmas, which is from the Judy Garland's 1944 musical "Meet Me in St. Louis." Finally, Christmas is never without the soul-warming original and well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847, "O Holy Night."

Ms Deans said, "Andrew Fazackerley and I spent countless hours crafting the format of the CD. It is my goal to keep this music alive through my performances and recordings."
