Velvety voiced crooner Anthony Caceres releases Christmas single
(Published: December 20, 2015)

Velvety voiced singer/bassist Anthony Caceres slides between smooth jazz slickness and Easy Listening balladry on his latest single, "A Very Special Christmas."

Unlike a number of other Yuletide songs, Caceres' tune isn't really about the holiday itself but finding romance and not being alone during the season. Then again, what greater Christmas gift is there than discovering love?

The track's laid-back melodies are relaxing yet upbeat as Greg Petito's deliciously tuneful guitar and Caceres' throbbing bass propel the rhythm section forward. Robert Aguilar's steady drumming contributes a solid bottom while David Caceres' keyboards offer a coat of sweet gloss. When the tempo picks up suddenly before the climax, it's candy to the ears.

Once a sideman for the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Caceres has been paving his own path in Texas. The grandson of swing violinist Emilio Caceres and the grand nephew of baritonist and clarinetist Ernie Caceres, he comes from a family of impeccable musicians. His own legacy is just beginning to build a foundation, and "A Very Special Christmas" is another step forward for this highly talented artist.
