TRUMPET PLAYER AL STRONG TO APPEAR ON WCOM-FM SUNDAY NIGHT JAZZ WITH LARRY THOMAS MARCH 20, 2016! (Published: March 16, 2016)

Listen to "Sunday Night Jazz With Larry Thomas" from 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm, on WCOM-FM (wcomfm.org), when the three-hour program (9p-12m) will include a conversation with trumpet player Al Strong. Some selections from Strong's latest recording, "Love Strong, Vol. One," will also be featured, as well as a discussion about what he is doing now, and about some of his future plans.
Strong, a Durham, North Carolina-based, Washington, D.C., native, is a graduate of The Duke Ellington School of The Performing Arts and of North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Jazz Studies Department. Al also earned a graduate degree from Northern Illinois University. He is a well-known versatile musician who has performed at many East coast clubs, festivals, and concerts. Strong is also a professor at NCCU and Saint Augustine's University, Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition, he is the co-founder of The Art Of Cool Festival, an annual music festival which takes place in the spring in downtown Durham, North Carolina.
