New York-based artist Mike DiLorenzo brews eclectic blend of Latin, R&B, and contemporary jazz on new album
(Published: August 19, 2016)

Multi-faceted musician Mike DiLorenzo takes his listeners to a riveting roulette of rhythms in his new album Soul to Soul. Fusing Latin funk and smooth jazz with modern twists, each of these tracks has a distinct flavor of its own. DiLorenzo bridges modern and classic tunes with a clever use of synthesizers and EDM. Prepare to be entranced by this captivating collection of contemporary jazz instrumentals.

DiLorenzo turned the jazz standard "Cherokee" into a funky, upbeat tune that makes you groove effortlessly. The organ and synthesizer blend with the percussion and trumpet fluidly without fluttering one bit. The trumpet solo is hypnotic, reminding you that the classic is still spellbinding. The modern electronic touches are not backing down, either. Its shining moments are seen throughout the track, showing that the old and new can complement each other beautifully. "Cherokee" is refreshing to the senses like drinking a piƱa colada on a hammock while waiting for the dawn of a new day.

What seems like a romantic song with a sweet piano melody. "Santorini" evolves into a sparkling tune with percussion beats and funky music. "Santorini" is charming and delightful with a slow groove that fills your heart with glee. It teases listeners with the different facets of contemporary jazz. Magical and lyrical, this song fuses percussion, synthesizers, and piano melodies like watercolor spreading into different hues, forming an incredible piece. Its perfectly synchronized tunes cast an enchanting spell, leaving listeners enthralled from start to finish.

Fast-paced and upbeat, the title cut is like opening a box of surprises with Rhodes and percussion taking turns in charming their listeners. Mostly high octane all throughout, this track is like riding through the rapids with thrill and delight, not knowing where the next turn would be. The trumpet and EDM vibe steal the show, showing how a modernized classic can become an addicting tune. Playful and exhilarating, this song will take you to one peak after another before descending to the valley in a slow and steady glide.

DiLorenzo has proven once again that his musical talent is a cut above the rest with his melodic improvisations bringing out different characteristics in a tune. This album transforms classic genres to modern, allowing listeners to appreciate the authenticity of the old and the ingenuity of the new.
