Vocalist Laurin Talese kicks off a series of shows with a tribute to Nancy Wilson in her hometown Cleveland
(Published: January 13, 2017)

On January 15, vocalist Laurin Talese will present a specially curated performance entitled Nancy Wilson: The Song Stylist at the Music Box in Cleveland, OH, backed by her trio featuring Jon Michel (bass), Toru Dodo (piano), and Anwar Marshall (drums). The hometown show marks the beginning of a series of concerts for the singer in the coming months, with upcoming dates in New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC and Georgia.

In 2016, Talese released her debut album, Gorgeous Chaos, to wide acclaim. The recording, which features many modern-day jazz luminaries such as Robert Glasper, Christian McBride, Ulysses Owens, and longtime collaborator Eric Wortham II, among others, received considerable recognition including being listed among the top 10 jazz albums in the Chicago Tribune, debuting on the Billboard jazz charts and more.

Talese has appeared in a host of national and international venues, having most recently performed with renowned singer-songwriter Amos Lee at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC), Philadelphia's Academy of Music, and The National (Richmond, VA) last fall. That year, she also performed at Philadelphia's esteemed Kimmel Center along with numerous other venues and festivals in Pennsylvania and beyond. Talese has various dates planned throughout 2017, as well as fresh material to be released in the coming months including a new music video.
