Brian Lynch Quintet at Arts Garage Jan 27
(Published: January 16, 2017)

Get ready for musical fireworks on January 27th at the Arts Garage! Setting the bandstand alight that evening will be Grammy© Award winning trumpeter Brian Lynch and his group Spheres Of Influence. This dynamic quintet exhibits a blend of Latin fire and hard bop savior-faire that reflects its leader's pedigree in both the jazz (Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Phil Woods) and Latin/world music (Eddie Palmieri) fields. Spheres Of Influence's repertoire mixes modern jazz, Afro-Caribbean, and world music traditions in original works and arrangements by Lynch. Featured in this performance will be selections from Brian's current Grammy-nominated album, "Madera Latino," which pays tribute in Latin Jazz style to the legendary jazz trumpeter Woody Shaw.

"Lynch demonstrates that a dedicated, knowledgeable jazzman can play a diversity of styles with telling authenticity, and make the renditions extremely appealing to both musician and neophyte...Lynch is simply first - rate."
- Zan Stewart, Downbeat

Brian Lynch, trumpet
Kemuel Roig, piano
Rodner Padilla, bass
Hilario Bell, drums
Murphy Aucamp, percussion.

Showtime is 8 PM. Arts Garage is in Delray Beach, 94 NE 2nd Ave. Tickets are $30-40-45 at artsgarage.org or (561) 450-6357.
