"As always, we are thrilled to have another year to celebrate Jazz," says Competition founder, Misha Brovkin. "Tickets are available now, and they tend to sell out quickly, so act fast. This is not an event you will want to miss. We have performers from 7 countries, and they are truly exquisite musicians."

This year's lineup includes participants from Cuba, Thailand, Georgia, Canada, France, Russia, and Uruguay. The remarkably talented artists will perform onstage with multi-Grammy Award winner Lenny White, who is known as one of the best fusion drummers of all time, Multi-Grammy Award Winner John Benitez. In the world of Latin Jazz/Latin American music, John Benítez is considered to be one of the greatest bassists alive today. With five GRAMMY awards to his name and performance credits ranging from Tito Puente to Chick Corea, his impact on the music world is unquestionable and Yaacov Mayman, an art director of the competition who has performed and/or recorded with Joe Lovano, Benny Golson, Ray Santiago and many others.

The winner of the competition get's $3,000.00 and ten percent from the participants' pool. This year the Grand prize also includes a special award designed by an award winning designer based in New York, Alex Soldier, who created a special work of art for the winner. Among the prices, Kawai VPC 1 digital piano and music software from Synthogy. One of the most exciting prices is the airfare ticket from the band's country of origin to New York, courtesy of Kawai Pianos. Kawai has been a supporter of the Made In New York Jazz Competition from the first year of its establishment and this partnership grows stronger!

Finalists, judges, contestants and jazz legends will be performing together at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center on May 20th to celebrate the universal language of Jazz.
