Brooklyn, New York - On Stage at Kingsborough, a leading performing arts presenter located at Brooklyn's Kingsborough Community College is pleased to present its 2017-2018 season, featuring world class artists from around the globe. On Stage at Kingsborough brings top notch performing arts to Southern Brooklyn with an eclectic roster of artists spanning multiple genres including cabaret, dance, music, and family programming. The full season runs through May 19, 2018.

On Friday, February 16th at 7:00 PM, join MusicTalks for an intimate Valentine's performance, "For The Love Of Jazz," as part of On Stage at Kingsborough's Jazz At The Lighthouse series. This romantic night of Valentine's Day-inspired jazz ballads, will feature award-winning vocalist Thana Alexa and special guest Michael Mayo, accompanied by the Israeli MusicTalks Jazz Quartet, as they perform some of the best known flirtatious duets by jazz icons such as Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.

The Jazz at the Lighthouse series presents intimate jazz performances in a modern lighthouse, featuring picturesque floor-to-ceiling views of the sea. Enjoy an intimate Valentine's concert complete with wine, cheese, and outstanding Jazz at The Lighthouse!

Thana Alexa is a Croatian-American jazz singer whose 2015 debut album "Ode to Heroes" received much acclaim, and secured her place as jazz's rising star. Alexa was selected as 2016 Downbeat Critic's Poll "Rising Female Vocalist."

Michael Mayo has performed at the Kennedy Center, the Panama Jazz Festival, the Hollywood Bowl, and stages in Chile, Australia, and Brazil. When he was at the Thelonius Monk Institute, Mayo had the honor of working with greats such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jimmy Heath, John Pattitucci, Danilo Pérez, Dick Oatts, Lewis Nash, Luciana Souza, and Gretchen Parlato, among others.

Elad Kabilio is a renowned Israeli cellist and founder of MusicTalks, an organization which breaks down the barriers between musicians and audience by taking advantage of the intimacy that the music provides. With engaging and interactive conversation, the listener is given an experience that truly makes Music Talk.

We strive to create an environment where the arts are an accessible and integral part of life, and the Arts Center is a community gathering place for interaction and inspiration. We present world class dance, cabaret, theatre, music, and family performances in the Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center and Kingsborough Community College's Lighthouse from October to May, and our Hot Summer Nights! free outdoor concert series at Kingsborough Community College's bandshell every July. Our school-time shows welcome classes from local public and private schools, a majority of which serves economically-disadvantaged or special needs populations. The 2017-2018 season reflects our commitment to present world-class artists in exclusive Brooklyn engagements.
