Lyricist Nancy Smith Delivers Messages Of Love And Life With My Serenades CD!
(Published: February 08, 2018)

San Francisco, CA-January 29th, 2018 - San Francisco Bay Area native, lyricist Nancy Smith is elated to announce the CD release of her debut CD My Serenades an 11 song set inspired by Nancy's life's experiences and brought to life by the powerfully emotional vocals of Bay Area favorite Tammi Brown!

Raised in a household that was filled with show tunes and the popular standards of the day, it no doubt planted a silent seed of lyrical creativity that later bloomed through the pen of Nancy Smith!

As Nancy recalls "My father loved Broadway tunes so they were played in our house all the time. On long car trips, my sisters and I would sing these songs until my parents would beg for quiet"! Among the favorites writers from those early musical growth years are Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and The Gershwin, and Johnny Mercer!

Later Nancy was becoming familiar with some of her other vocal influences such as Johnny Mathis "I owned all of Johnny Mathis's albums" she recalls. Additionally there was Nat King Cole, Irene Kral, Karrin Allyson, Gregory Porter, Bette Midler!

Without a musiciaI background Nancy is inspired "to write by life's many experience's" she states. As with the first track Let's Let Our Journey Begin which is about two people on their "road trip" to falling in love!

´╗┐While track two the bossa nova Barcelona tells the story of Nancy's 4 month travels through Europe and some imaginary indiscretions!

Tell Me Why, track 3, a slow and mid tempo song that tells a story of love and happiness and eventual loss. Easily a radio favorite! Track 4 Our Days Were Numbered with its bouncie up tempo speaks to a romance not to last long.

While there are several more that speak to love and relationships, track 10 I Sing "was inspired by the political situation in this country" Nancy reflects. With the title track 11, My Serenade, the best of a jazzy spiritual is present and as Nancy Smith concludes "with spirits guidance this song was written"!

Nancy certainly selected the perfect vocalist to enterpet and breathe life into her first deeply sensitive, personal, romantic and fun filled lyrics and debut CD. Tammi Brown's great versatility, depth and passion is exactly what these songs needed! I'm sure you'll hear more from Tammi Brown!

Additionally Nancy and producer Byron Dyer assembled a stellar group of musicians, all first call talent to create the various sheets of sound to support the written and vocal efforts!
