New Will P Lyte album warmly innovates smooth jazz

Will Polite, better known as Will P Lyte, is a driven artist with a passion for innovation. His blend of smooth and contemporary jazz certainly borrows from classic tones of the genre although Polite aims to make music that defies conventions.

His groundbreaking new record, Lyte EFX, is a stunning example of how the artist manages to modernize the genre with a healthy dose of charisma. The album is a concoction of Latin grooves, tropical vibes, funky spices, and jazz sophistication.

At times, jazz fusion albums tend to be a mere showcase of technical skills, and can result a bit cold in spite of the many influences trying to instill warmth into the release. This is certainly not the case, as Lyte manages to embed a lot of his personality into the fabric of this kaleidoscopic release.

If I only had one single word I could use to describe the music featured on this album, I'd probably say "groove." The ten tracks that make up this album are indeed all based on clever dynamics, as the instruments intertwine with one another, creating a cohesive yet balanced song formula.
