North Carolina Jazz Festival announces the lineup for the February 2019 39th Annual 3-day Jazz Festival (Published: June 13, 2018)
One of the oldest jazz festivals in the country, the North Carolina Jazz Festival, will celebrate its 39th anniversary Jan. 31, Feb. 1 & 2, 2019. This 3 day event, held in the ballroom of the Hotel Ballast (formerly Wilmington Hilton Riverside), features internationally known jazz musicians from across the U.S., Australia, Canada, and Italy.
Thursday is Special Event Night featuring different styles of jazz. Opening the event will be Wilmington's own Grenoldo Frazier, entertainer extraordinaire, followed by Brazilian Jazz with vocalist Maucha Adnet (sang with Joabim for 10 yrs), percussionist Duduka daFonseca and friends.
Fri. & Sat. night concerts feature 15 world renown musicians from across the U.S., Australia, Italy, Israel, and Canada. All concerts stat 7:30pm, Thursday is a 3 hour concert, while Fri. & Sat. concerts go until midnight
