The Karolina Pernal Quintet convey passionate contemporary jazz on 'Claridad'
(Published: February 04, 2019)

The Karolina Pernal Quintet's Claridad is a project with an unyielding love for pure and smooth contemporary jazz vibes. Saxophonist Pernal is a passionate and sophisticated performer with a distinctive style, and a one-of-a-kind creative approach. Her band members are equally as gifted, resulting in a really unique sound. Ultimately, her music blurs the lines between various ideas, such as eclectic arrangements and adventurous lead tones. The saxophone leads are absolutely spectacular, and in fact, they are definitely among the key elements in the sound of this record.

This album features six songs, including the stunning "What If There Is Someone Waiting For You," and the charming opener which is the album's namesake track.

The songs are soothing and atmospheric with a sense of warmth and superior balance. Pernal is a genuine purveyor of great jazz, and this album is an impressive portrait of her skills.
