Kent O'Doherty's broad creative scope shines on new album
(Published: July 14, 2019)

Kent O'Doherty is a musician with a broad creative scope and a lifelong passion for quality music. He is an accomplished saxophone player who knows how to combine his impressive technical skills with a very emotional performance style. Some artists in this genre are concerned with trying to shine on the proficiency aspect. However, the emotional integrity of their sound might suffer.

This is definitely not the case for O'Doherty, who set out to achieve an amazing balance between these two different aspects of his musicianship. He's most recent studio effort, a full length titled Periville, is a shining example of what I am talking about.

The album is truly focused, and the sheer quality of the sound is mixed for a remarkably immersive sonic experience for the audience. Whether you are a fan of classic jazz, swing, or fusion, this release is highly recommended due to the wide variety of influences that you will find at the heart of each cut.
