New Fishbelly Black album is incredibly diverse, creative
(Published: January 14, 2020)

Fishbelly Black is an incredibly diverse musical project, which to me, stands out as the quintessential modern musical act. Today, genre definitions do not matter as much as they used to, and as a result, artists are infinitely more free to create music based on their creative musings, rather than trying to fit within a stylistic box.

This is definitely the case of Fishbelly Black, a group that explores styles as diverse as electronica, and acid jazz, among other things. The act is back on the scene with a fantastic new release titled Turn It Up. The instrumental prowess of the group is apparent on tracks like "Black Beauty," which highlight their talent and creative vision.

Songs such as "Water On The Moon" are yet another snapshot of the group's ability to combine relatable melodies with clever arrangements that will always keep you on the edge of your seat. All in all, Turn It Up is a remarkably diverse album, yet it is also very consistent and smooth.
